I was diagnosed with breast cancer and referred to Mr Banerjee at St George's Hospital Tooting under the NHS in 2008.
My insurance covered my care so we switched to Parkside Hospital, Wimbledon. I have been under his care for 12 years.
A cancer diagnosis turns your word upside down, but his expert knowledge combined with unfailing kindness, compassion and ability to explain difficult information in a way that is easy to understand makes a huge difference. He is an outstanding surgeon; I couldn't have imagined such a successful surgical result.
Thanks to Mr Bannerjee (and his colleagues) I am cancer free. I have had the best care imaginable and I will always be extremely grateful to him. I can't recommend him highly enough, so my suggestion would be that if you can request to be referred to him, you absolutely should.

I cannot rate Mr Banerjee enough. He was kind, patient and understanding in extremely stressful times of a cancer diagnosis. I was nervous about my bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, but he put me at ease and I trusted him. Fast forward a few months and I literally can’t tell the difference between my reconstructed chest and my original breasts as they are identical. A perfect job and one less thing to worry about. Thank you!

Mr Banerjee is a completely trustworthy professional. He is honest without being brutal and kind and understanding. I have spoken to a number of his previous patients all of whom were singing his praises: a view with which I agree.
I feel very lucky, not to have had my cancer, but to have been referred to such an excellent surgeon in whose hands I felt completely safe. I have had the best possible care from Mr Banerjee and I will always be grateful to him for his swift action and for possibly saving my life.
Mr Banerjee's role is to carry out surgery and he is happy to defer to his Breast Care Nurses for further discussion if necessary.
He is entirely honest and professional and I am sure that by the end of my treatment I will be thrilled with what he has managed to achieve for me.
I would happily recommend him to any future patient.

I am a Senior Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon based at St George's Hospital, London since 2004 - specialising in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery and Cosmetic Breast procedures. I have been awarded the Royal College of Surgeons Certification in Cosmetic Breast Surgery. I see patients with any breast related complaints in several One Stop Breast clinics in my NHS as well as Private Practice in Wimbledon & Surrey. I specialise in the management of Breast Cancer, keeping the best cosmetic outcome in focus, whilst removing the tumour. I perform immediate or delayed breast reconstruction, including single stage direct to implant pre-pectoral reconstruction. I regularly review and audit my practice and present my results at national and international meetings & conferences. I work alongside London's leading plastic surgeons to offer my patients the full range of reconstructive options such as DIEP (tummy) or TMG (inner thigh) tissue flaps.
